The Laguna Woods Village Hula Club welcomes members to explore and honor the Hawaiian Culture through Hula (dance), Hawaiian History and Language, Cultural Practices and Handicrafts. We provide workshops, excursions to the many Polynesian Festivals in Orange County, and we will travel to the Hawaiian Islands to visit historical and cultural sites. All this in a fun, relaxing atmosphere.
Come join us on Monday evenings at Clubhouse 6, 6 -7:30 pm. We learn the basic hula steps, the interpretation of the mele (song) we are learning and the Hawaiian language it is written in. Our teacher is Aulani Bagalay who has been dancing hula for 12 years.
The Hula Club meets on Saturday, Clubhouse 1, 10:30 - 12:30 pm, in the multipurpose room. We practice hula, do crafts and plan our trips, performances and events.
