Celebrate America!
After much anticipation, the Independence Day celebration is finally here! The parade starts at 11 a.m., Monday, July 4, at Clubhouse 5 and ends at Clubhouse 2, where free festivities abound, including a Stone Soul concert.
Following the concert, the Nomads OC, featuring John Pearlstone (lead guitar, vocals), Pamela Sankey (vocals, percussion), Dutch Fisser (bass, vocals) and Bill Hemberger (drums, vocals), will perform at 2 p.m. on the Clubhouse 2 patio. The RetroFits, featuring Jeff Grider (lead singer, drums), Craig Spradley (keyboard, vocals), Carmen Pacella (bass guitar) and Bill Moffatt (guitar, vocals), will perform from 4 to 6 p.m.
Activities for the grandkids include a bounce house obstacle course, games and swimming at Clubhouse 2 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Purchase hot dogs, hamburgers, Italian sausage and French fries from 19 Restaurant and top it off with dessert from Handel’s Ice Cream stand from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. or while supplies last. A no-host beer and wine garden will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Event attendees can park at Clubhouse 7 and the Community Center. A shuttle to the event from Clubhouse 7 and the Community Center will start running at 10:30 a.m.
