Don’t Let Thieves Steal Your Holiday Spirit
Laguna Woods Village is a beautiful—and safe—place to call home. Our private community features 14 security gates and dedicated personnel who consistently strive to keep it that way. However, with roughly 5,000 visitors per day, the Village is not entirely immune to crime—particularly during the holiday season.
Theft, scams and other crimes of opportunity tend to increase during this time of year. Recently, the Village has experienced an uptick in minor theft, such as bicycles and miscellaneous property taken from carports, storage cabinets and unlocked vehicles.
It’s easy to prevent a situation that could lead to petty theft—and a spoiled holiday mood.
Security Chief Moy urges residents to take the few extra seconds necessary to lock their vehicles and secure property. Remove valuables that may draw the attention of would-be thieves looking for easy targets and the path of least resistance.
Chief Moy also asks residents to remain vigilant, report unusual activity or suspicious individuals in the community and help ensure the Village remains one of Southern California’s safest places to live. Report all suspicious activity to the Department of Security Services at 949-580-1400.
