Third Streetlight Pilot Testing Continues

Earlier in 2019, Third Mutual, with the assistance of Maintenance and Construction Department and consultant Siemens Industry Inc., acquired streetlight infrastructure from Southern California Edison. As Third continues to test various LED fixtures and lighting options, which aim to improve nighttime safety and roadway lighting, residents are invited to comment on the options provided in a second pilot program.

Several options are being tested to evaluate the light quality of different fixtures, lamp wattages, lamp colors and pole heights at various locations. Options for this new pilot are installed on poles inside Gate 7 on Calle Sonora, Alta Vista, Via Carrizo and Calle Carmenita. Next week, each option will be labeled 1A, 1B, 1C, 1D, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B, 4A, 4B, 4C and 4D for ease of evaluation. Visit the test areas after dark any evening from Thursday, November 21, to Monday, December 2.

All input/questions will be reviewed by Third Mutual board members, staff and Siemens. Residents can email feedback and questions to info@lagunawoodsvillage.com or leave a note with the concierge in the Community Center lobby no later than 5 p.m. on December 2 to weigh in on this important project.
