Mindful Movement Yoga
Clubhouse 5 Fitness Room, Mondays 7 to 8:30 a.m. and Wednesdays noon to 1:30 p.m. Starts Monday, March 4. Achieve greater fitness, wellness and relaxation with classes designed specifically for active seniors that focus on breathing, mind-body connection, strength and balance. Suitable for beginning and experienced yoga students. Classes are taught by Jerry Bloch, a certified yoga instructor who has training in teaching yoga to seniors. Painting Class with Penni Rubin
Acrylic Painting Using Design Elements is a painting class with and award-winning artist Penni Rubin. Artists can learn to use design elements as a way to enhance their work in all mediums. Class will cover composition and color theory, plus ways to speed up your painting and develop skills. Students may bring in samples of their work to the first class for critique. Class meets on Fridays from 1:30 to 4:45 p.m. in the Clubhouse 6 Multipurpose Room starting March 8. $96 fee; materials not included. Cycling Class with Alisha
Alisha Sullivan, an instructor with more than 30 years of group fitness experience, will lead class participants through indoor cycling, which builds muscle strength and endurance, burns calories and offers a low-impact, cardiovascular workout. Any athletic shoe or cleat for a two-hole pedal system (SPD clips) can be worn; bring a small towel and water bottle. Classes are $5 each; sessions are $40. Stress-less Mindfulness Meditation Classes
Monday, March 18, to Monday, April 22, 10 to 11 a.m. (beginners) and 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. (intermediate/advanced) in the Clubhouse 5 Fitness Room. Stress-less Mindfulness Meditation with Dr. Lois Rubin assists with insomnia, anxiety relief, pain and stress; improves concentration and memory; reduces blood pressure and cardiac risk; and enhances the immune response. Come learn and relax, and promote healing, well-being and longevity. Register for this free class in the Clubhouse 5 office or the Recreation office, starting Monday, March 4. Silver Glove Fitness Classes
Clubhouse 5 Fitness Room, Wednesdays 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. and Fridays from 8 to 9 a.m. Silver Glove Fitness noncontact boxing is a fun, challenging and always-changing workout. Exercises help improve balance, coordination and overall strength. $35 for five classes. Free class offered Friday, March 1. Purchase punch cards in the Recreation office or Clubhouse 5 office. Community Fitness Center, Tuesdays and Thursdays 7 to 8 p.m. This small class allows instructors to work more with soft equipment and group workouts.
