Medicare Scams and More
The Attorney General advises those over 65 to be informed about potential scammers. A recent scam comes in the form of a caller who presents themselves as an employee of Medicare. Beware! If the caller is asking for your social security number or account information, that is your cue it is a scam. Protect yourself; do not provide personal information to callers who claim to be calling on behalf of a doctor, hospital or health agency. If you are unsure of a caller, or they demand payment for medical services over the phone or web, contact the organization in question immediately. Predators are out there, so beware.
