International Folk Dance Club
International Folk Dance ClubFrieda Gorelick
Would you like to learn folk dance and customs around the world while participating with a fun and supportive group? If yes, this club is definitely for you!
Welcome to the International Folk Dance Club, led by Mikki Revenaugh, who was the original founder of both folk dance clubs in Laguna Woods Village. She has performed in several local exhibition folk dance groups, including Betyarok (Hungarian), Polski Iskri (Polish) and in Ukrainian groups from the age of 3. In addition, while serving in the Voluntary Israeli Army in the 80's, Mikki was taught the local dances.
The International Folk Dance Club meets Tuesdays from 9 to 11 a.m. in Clubhouse 1 main lounge. No partners needed. The first session for new students is free. Afterward, all subsequent classes are $5 weekly. The first hour is for beginners. The instructor teaches many dances representing different countries, reviews, reinforces patterns, steps and styling. Newcomers and beginners are especially greeted with a warm response.
