If you have been playing chess for years or would simply like to learn this fascinating game, the Laguna Woods Village Chess Club has a place for you!

Where:
The Club meets in the Redwood Room on the first floor of the
Laguna Woods Village Community Center. The Community
Center (see picture at right) is located at 24351 El Toro Road.
It is near Gate #7, and next to the Ayres Hotel, and across
El Toro Road from the Stater Brothers grocery.

The Club meets every Monday and Thursday (some holidays
excepted) from 10 AM until 6 PM. Most members arrive after
lunch and play until closing time.

The Club is open to all Village residents and their guests.

Cost:
Yearly membership dues are a modest $10 for residents and $20 for guests. The dues are used to
buy chess equipment, pay rent on the playing room, and cover miscellaneous expenses. The club
also asks members who play on Monday to chip in a dollar each time to cover room rent for the
"extra day".

Free lessons are cheerfully offered to beginners and less experienced players. Contact John Griffin
