The City of Laguna Woods RACES group
has access to a mode of emergency communications called Winlink. Winlink (WL2K) is a worldwide system of volunteer resources supporting e-mail by radio with non commercial links to internet e-mail. This system provides valuable service to emergency communicators and to licensed radio operators without access to the internet.

The Laguna Woods Amateur Radio Club is The RACES (Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service)group for The City of Laguna Woods. We will provide emegency communications for The City during an emergency  / disaster situation.  One of the duties we perform for The City is to check into the monthly emergency OA1 net. We have been doing this ever since The RACES group was formed.
