EMPLOYMENT POSITIONS AVAILABLE TO RESIDENTS

POSITION LIST

 

(Not all positions may be currently open)

 

GATE AMBASSADOR  

Works at the gates and checks passes, etc., Part-time including weekends and holidays on a floating schedule. The schedule is done approximately 6 weeks in advance.  Three shifts are available. Cannot choose specifically morning or afternoon shift, but can request to work only the graveyard shift which is 11:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m.  Requires carrying and lifting of up to 20 lbs. as well as frequent standing and reaching. 

 

DISPATCHER

Works in the Security Office on the radio dispatching motor patrol units to various locations throughout the community. Scheduling is the same as the Gate Ambassador. 16 to 22-hours per week. Part-time.

 

MOTOR PATROL OFFICER

Works in a Security vehicle responding to Gate Ambassador calls for relief and calls from Dispatchers.  Must be a Gate Ambassador before going into Motor Patrol. Scheduling is the same as the Gate Ambassador 16 to 22-hours per week.  Must have a BSIS Guard Card. Must have a California Driver's License.

 

BUS DRIVER

 

Drives a designated route within and around the community.  Checks passenger’s ID and inspects assigned bus for safety issues.  Floating schedule working two to three shifts per week. Minimum 18-hours per week, must be flexible with work schedule. Occasional bending, standing, stooping, kneeling, and lifting will be required to assist riders in wheelchairs into the bus and then securing the wheelchair. Must be able to obtain a Class B License (we will train), which requires taking and passing a physical examination with criteria set by the Department of Motor Vehicles.   Must also have an excellent driving record. When applying for this position applicant must provide a H-6 DMV printout.

 

RECREATION LEADER

Assist in developing and coordinating recreational activities, events, programs, and classes. Provide excellent customer service and build meaningful relationships with residents. Set-up and manage audio/video equipment for special events. Assist with office duties including research, data entry, report generating, and filing. Effectively work in a team environment with management, staff, volunteers, community clubs, contractors, and residents. Assist with event setup, break down and clean up; lifting up to 50lbs. Knowledge and understanding of computer software and applications. A valid California Driver’s License. The ability to work afternoon, evening, weekends and holidays are required for the position. Part-time 18-20 hrs. per week.

 

 

 

GOLF STARTER

Opens golf course, unlocks rooms, counts and balances cash drawer, sets up reservation sheets, golf carts and sound system.  Collects green fees, guest and cart fees, pages golfers for reserved starting times, arranges games for golfers without reservations and matches individual players with smaller groups. 12 to 16-hours per week.         

 

GOLF COURSE ATTENDANT

Assists the Golf Operations Manager in pricing, stocking, inventorying and displaying golf shop merchandise.  Shows and assists customers in selecting merchandise, accepts payments and balances cash reports.  Prepares snack bar, checks inventory for adequate supplies and reports to supervisor when items need to be restocked.  Sells food and beverage items, opens driving range, unlocks rooms, records number of baskets sold and keeps areas clean and orderly.  Drives designated golf cart to patrol course. Checks electric carts. Picks up balls on range with truck. 12 to 16-hours per week. 

 

FITNESS ASSISTANT

Assists residents in following exercise programs and assures the safe and proper use of all exercise equipment. Provides information, assistance and direction for new participants. 12 to 16-hours per week.   

 

 

BARTENDER

Sets up and mixes drinks, balances cash register, submits paperwork, and assists in closing the bar. Evening and weekend hours. 10 to 20-hours per month

SECURITY PATROL OFFICER

Work in a Security Vehicle responding to Gate Officers’ calls for relief and calls from Dispatchers. Part-time on a floating schedule. Must submit a DMV print out with application. Must obtain a BSIS card within 60 days of hire.and a valid CA driver’s license.

 

BUS DRIVER

Minimum 18 hours per week $15.43 Drive designated route within and around Laguna Woods Village. Check passenger ID and assigned bus for safety. Floating schedule working 2 - 3 shifts per week. Must be flexible with work schedule. Occasional bending, standing, stooping, kneeling, and lifting. Must be able to obtain a Class B license (we will train) which requires the person to be in good physical condition. Must also have an excellent driving record. Must have H-6 DMV printout with application.
