El Toro Water District (ETWD) Recycled Water Expansion Project Construction

The construction involving the comprehensive El Toro Water District Recycled Water Expansion Project is becoming more prevalent in the Village. It is anticipated the construction will be complete by the end of June 2013.

Update on Moulton Widening Project

Phase II of Moulton Widening extends from the bus stop just north of El Toro Road to Santa Maria along Moulton Parkway.  The construction for the project is being overseen by the County of Orange.  The Contractor has almost completed Phase 1 of the project along the center of the roadway.  The Contractor is going to start Phase 2 work on the east side of the road along the golf course up to the Garden Center.  There will be the following traffic closures until mid-June 2013 along Moulton Parkway:

Southbound #1 lane along the median will remain closed 24 hours

Northbound #3 lane along the golf course 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Phase II work over the next month will include fence installation in the golf course at the temporary construction easement, clearing and grubbing, tree removal and demo.  Further details on the phasing and areas of impact will be available once the Contractor’s schedule is finalized.

Experts on Dementia and Alzheimer’s Research at Clubhouse 3 on May 29

Bring your questions about memory loss, Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, research advances, and more to this open forum on Wednesday, May 29, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Clubhouse 3.

Professor Frank La Ferla, director of the UCI Institute for Memory Impairments and Neurological Disorders (UCI MIND), will moderate a panel of clinicians and researchers who will answer your questions about:    

• Diagnosis and treatment
• Prevention strategies
• Research developments
• Caregiving

This event is open to the public at no charge. Refreshments will be provided.

Fun Club Happenings!  Rock N Rollers June Luau on June 8

Come to the June Luau with a Hawaiian buffet dinner and dance featuring the ever popular “Sophisticats” providing dancing and listening music. Saturday, June 8 at Clubhouse 2.  Doors open at 5:30 and music starts at 6:30 p.m. Reservations are required and deadline is June 3.  Cost is $20 for members and $25 for guests.  Hawaiian attire is optional.  Mark your calendar.  Pickup a flyer or send checks to Pam Hirshberg, 535 Via Estrada, Unit D.
