Recreation Master Plan Town Hall Meeting on Monday, June 10

There will be a Town Hall meeting about the Recreation Master Plan at Clubhouse 5 at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, June 10. Residents are encouraged to attend and learn more about the plan and ask questions.

Channel 6 will broadcast this Town Hall meeting on June 14 and June 19 at 2 p.m.

Save the Date! Second Annual Laguna Woods Village Anniversary Golf Tournament on Sept. 12

On September 10, 2014, the Village will celebrate its 50th Anniversary. In preparation for this momentous occasion, the Historical Society of Laguna Woods, the Golden Rain Foundation (GRF) and Professional Community Management (PCM) staff will host a golf tournament to raise funds for the big event.

“Laguna Woods Village has a rich history, worthy of celebration,” says Bob Ring, President of the Historical Society. “The Historical Society is excited to sponsor activities celebrating 50 years of premier retirement living.”

The tournament, which is open to all Village residents and guests, takes place on Thursday, September 12. All proceeds benefit the Laguna Woods Historical Society and the Laguna Woods Village 50th Anniversary Celebration.  Sign-ups will begin in July. More information will become available in the next few weeks.

5th Annual Battle of the Fitness Centers - Registration June 3 through July 15th

Who will reign supreme? The Recreation Division Fitness Staff is proud to present the 5th Annual Battle of the Fitness Centers!

Registration will be held from June 3rd through July 15th at both fitness facilities.  All residents who use the centers are encouraged to sign up and join their Fitness Center’s team.

To participate, residents must be registered in at least three events.  In the Battle, a team of residents representing the Clubhouse One Fitness Center and another team representing the Community Fitness Center will compete for this year’s championship. Individuals compete in their own age and gender divisions. The winning team will earn the right to display the trophy in their Fitness Center for one year.

Make sure to come to the Fitness Centers and pick up a registration packet!

All residents and guests are welcome to attend the Opening Ceremonies on Monday, July 29th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on the Clubhouse One patio.  At this kickoff, there will be an introduction of the reigning champions, distribution of T-shirts for this year’s Battle, and team photos.

This is a great opportunity to show support for your Fitness Center and for your friends and neighbors who are participating.

Fun Club Happenings!  RV Wheelers Meeting on June 13

Get out your jeans, boots, and cowboy hats and join the RV Wheelers Club for their Western Barbecue.

Meet at Clubhouse Six on Thursday, June 13.

Happy hour: 5:30-6:30 p.m., dinner at 6:30 p.m.

Come early if you’d like to swim and sun for awhile. Everyone has lots of fun at this event and they welcome one and all.
