Why is there a supplemental property tax included in my manor payment?

This applies only to members of United; as a cooperative, property taxes are included in the monthly manor payments.  When there is a change in ownership or new construction affecting a property, a supplemental property tax assessment may be issued by the County.  A supplemental assessment reflects an increase in the taxable value.  Sometimes, this new assessed value notice may be delayed due to the processing schedule of the County.  When the notice is sent out, it provides information on the appeal process available to the owner.  More information is available at the Orange County’s Assessor’s website http://www.oc.ca.gov/assessor.
