Why can't the first tee-time be at first light / 6:30 a.m.? Because the course is irrigated with re-claimed water, the water district prohibits golfers from playing during times when the irrigation system is in operation. The irrigation cycle, particularly during summer, can run for more than 12 hours, therefore during this time the first tee-time cannot be at first light, or 6:30 a.m., because the irrigation system is still running through its cycle. Also, allowing play this early would interfere with setup and maintenance activities. |
