What is being done about the rabbits? The current procedures in place to minimize damage to the landscape involve several approaches including 'exclusion' by use of fencing when appropriate around slopes that harbor rabbit populations. A repellant specifically developed to be effective against browsing rabbits is applied to plants prior to planting or plants used to replace rabbit damaged material. Finally, live-trapping and relocating rabbits from an area where active browsing is taking place is occasionally required. |
