Light Patrol is A Team Effort

The Security Division has implemented “Light Patrol” in an effort to conserve energy. Security’s “Light Patrol” looks for glowing clubhouse lights, and the officer will turn off lights whenever it is determined that its use is unnecessary. Because patrols may not be able to see all 2100 acres all the time, residents are encouraged to participate in the “Light Patrol” as a team effort.

Inside all clubhouses, when the last activity ends, staff has been instructed to turn lights off when closing the facility.   

Exterior parking lot lights at the Clubhouses are on timers and are adjusted almost daily to shut off at appropriate times.  However, exterior lighting malfunctions can occur as the result of faulty timers or sensors, dirt on connections, and even behavior from birds. In some instances light poles are maintained by Southern California Edison, and have been known to remain on 24 hours-a-day until reported to PCM staff.

Energy conservation is everyone’s job. Residents who want to participate in the “Light Patrol” should make reports to Security at 949-580-1400 after hours, Recreation at 597-4273, or the specific clubhouse where a problem appears to exist.
